Beautiful Burkina Faso: Cascades de Karfiguéla, Banfora
Around 12km north of Banfora is the beautiful oasis called Cascades de Karfiguéla (aka Banfora Waterfalls). It is one destination not to be missed when you’re in Banfora, Burkina Faso. an excellent view of the waterfalls can be seen during the rainy season. On the way to the waterfalls is an avenue of mango trees.
It’s a short hike to get to the top where you can see stunning views like this…
Once you’re at the top, there’s a place where you can relax and just enjoy the views. I advise to bring a picnic basket or some snacks and drinks and take your time and enjoy. (Do remember to take your rubbish with you!) I was told that it’s also possible to stay there and camp.
The water is very inviting and if you need to cool off, you can swim in the natural pools on the upper part of the waterfalls. Just be very careful as it can be slippery…
I really had a great time when I was there, just a bit gutted we weren’t able to camp! It would have been an even better experience!
Stay happy and be sure to have fun!!!
